My gf has been getting upper leg pain for like 3 years, since around the time she started work. She has tendonitis in her knee and they said she may have restless leg syndrome because her legs hurt when shes sleeping.
She says her upper leg hurts maybe 45% of the day and shes used to it and ignores it. She goes to school and work from 7am till 11pm and doesnt get in bed till 2am, so I wonder if a lack of sleep is hurting it and she stands on her feet while at work all day. Plus she buys new shoes like every 2 months..wonder if that isnt helping too..
Anyone know what it could be? Shes only 18 btw, she plans on stopping work the first semester of college and I think this may fix it..cuz it helped a lot with my sore knee.
Knee to upper leg pain?
If you find out, let me know too. I have the same issues. No matter how much rest I give my legs, they're always sore and tired.
Reply:First off if I was her, I would get myself a support for the knee, especially while at work. Secondly I would start applying ice packs and moist heat. Twenty minutes on, twenty off. Usually the heat works best. Do this for her, take towels, run hot water over them until soaked, wring out the water and apply the moist heat towels. It will probably take two towels, because when the first one starts cooling down, you can have the second one ready to replace it. Do this for about ten minutes. Then rub her leg and massage it using some Aspercreme Cream. See if that helps. I know, from what you just said, her time is short for any relaxing, but if she can find the time, have her lay on the floor, place both feet up onto the edge of a couch or chair with soft cushions, While her feet is up, heels stationary on the cushions, move her feet from side to side and forward, which helps blood flow back down the legs quicker. Do this for about ten minutes and when she stands up she will feel like she is walking on a cloud. You could do this also with her. She can also get a shot of cortisone in her knee that may help. She is just on her feet to long. She needs to rest a couple of days and let her leg settle down. I would also get a gel insert for her shoes. Just hope she can stay away from taking any kinds of pills or muscle relaxers. Best of luck to your girlfriend sir.
