Back Pain ..What would you do?

I have been having Horrible Upper Back pain for about 2 weeks now and today my OB doctor said i was fine. (He just touched my back and thats it.) It really feels like something more. I just moved to a new city so i dont have a family practitioner or anything yet. But i think it could be something more serious, It even hurts to breath.Sometimes it hurts i cry and for me it better be severe pain for me to cry over. What would you do if in my shoes?

Back Pain ..What would you do?
You need to see a doctor for several reasons. You are in pain and being pregnant rearranges your insides sorta to make room for the baby. It is possible it is pushing hard enough on your spine so that the vertebrae are pushing on nerves. Or you could have pulled a muscle in your back. You need to see a doctor to make sure you and your baby are find and to see what pain medication you can take if you are in a lot of pain. I hope you feel better soon!!
Reply:I would see a chiropractor. See one that specializes or knows how to help pregnant women. I was told to go to one b/c I was having back pain. Stupid me- didn't go. Didn't have any extra money at the time to go. I've heard it does wonders though. Or a pregnancy massage.

If that doesn't work - please go to another dr or the hospital.
Reply:Go to an emergency room. Use motrin- 800 mg and try hot packs and cold packs. I dont think the person you saw was a good Dr. You should be on some kind of muscle relaxer like FLEXERIL
Reply:It could be a number of things.

* the baby could be pressing against a nerve or bone that is causing this pain. If so you can try to get it to move and work on another spot for a while.

* It could be a problem with your spine that was not identified before your pregnancy. There is not alot to do but knowledge will give you a little peace and relieve your worrying.

* Depending on how far along you are; it could be back labor. I had the pleasure of this kind of labor and yes it does hurt. Ask for drugs. lol

* Get a second opinion. Sometimes doctors are not as good at listening as they are at collecting their pay checks.

Good luck.
Reply:It's totally normal for your back to be hurting...you're pregnant. But maybe did you lift something you shouldn't have? Or sleep a bad way? The only advice I can give you is use heating pads and take Tylenol untl you're baby comes out. If it still hurts after the baby is born, see a Chiropractor.
Reply:If the pain radiates from the area it could be a nerve issue but I doubt that. It could be ligament damage or many other problems.

You need to go to a doctor who will prescribe tests to zero in on your problem.

Good luck.
Reply:cyro practer get a massive massage from a professional and although these are expensive... get a stress relief chair. they are designed to realease tension out of your body. my dad his back is a massive pretzel but the chair really helps he says i got him one for his birthday there about 700 - 800 dollars
Reply:Not getting pregnant would be an option.....

Just kidding.....God bless!
Reply:i would go to the hospital or get a physiotherapist to have a look
Reply:That is weird. Get someone to give you a good rub. If that doesn't relax the muscles ... assuming that the muscles feel tight ... then see if there is a walk-in clinic in your area. Maybe they can help.

And, congrats on the baby!
Reply:Exercise is a great muscle relaxer... stretch long before and after, in a week you'll be feeling much better.
Reply:try using a hot water bottle to ease the pain and call the jerk of a doctor and tell him something is definitely wrong. go to the ER if it gets so bad you can't breathe. if that other doctor won't do anything find another doctor.
Reply:Visit another Doctor and preferably a spine specialist. I am almost recovered from a Lower Back pain problem , a condition which almost crippled me about a year ago.

It all began in almost the same fashion as you describe yourself to be feeling and i went through the swallowing of pain killers and applying ointments to the affected area, all to no avail.

I was saved by an MRI Scan done and thereafter almost six moths of Physical(Physio)-Therapy.

Your case may be totally different, and i do hope so for your sake, However seeing a Consultant Spine Specialist Doctor may be beneficial in some way. Wish you full recovery.
Reply:If you can afford it, seeing a chiropractor when you are pregnant is a God send.
