Anyone know any random everyday words we should all know?

I'm talking about the stuff we do everyday or a certain part of us that we look at or are apart of everyday that it's like no one knows the name of. I want to learn some of them! Like, for example, I know that the little half-moon on your fingernail is called a lunula, the indent part between your upper lip nose is a philtrum, and the end of your shoe lace is called an aglet. Anyone know any more?

Anyone know any random everyday words we should all know?
Here are a few:

-- The ridges on the sides of coins are called "reeding" or "milling".

-- The ball on top of a flagpole is called the "truck".

-- The side of a hammer is a "cheek".

-- The loop on a belt that holds the loose end is called a "keeper".

-- The "glair" is the white or clear part of an egg. The word glair comes from the Latin clarus, meaning "clear".

-- "Corduroy" comes from the French "cord du roi" or "cloth of the king."
